The C&C 101 is the latest introduction for C&C Yachts. Following in the long history of C&C Yachts the 101 is a racer/cruiser with an emphasis on performance. Her infused BPA hull and decks, carbon fiber mast, and low center of gravity all lead keel create a performance advantage and afford a build quality that others cannot match. Below are photographs of the C&C 101 hull plug and the very beginning of the deck plug.
Keep an eye on this page for regular updates on the development of the all new C&C 101.
The Tom McNeill Report
Sorry for the long delay in updates. For those of you not aware, we
recently had to move almost 40,000 square feet of manufacturing space and
all of the associated equipment. Needless to say that has made things
interesting around C&C and Tartan for the last several weeks.
An update on where we stand - hull 01 has been infused and can be seen in the most recent pictures with the plug for the interior pan installed. It's a bit difficult to tell from the pictures but the liner encompasses the timber grid, engine pan, and the galley and head units. The mold for the interior liner will be built on this plug in the next couple of days. After that we build the liner, set it in the boat and begin assembly of hull 1. As seen elsewhere in the pictures the deck mold is complete and the deck is scheduled to be complete on around May 14th. The small parts molds are nearly all complete. The keel is here and the deck stainless is ready at our supplier.
After the long tooling project we're looking forward to getting hull 01 into assembly and out on the water. We'll be making much more visible progress over the coming weeks...stay tuned!

C&C 101 - 1/12/12
Seen in the pictures below, the painstaking fairing and sanding of the hull plug is well underway. There is no substitute for the long board and lots of elbow grease in the quest for a smooth, fair plug.

As you can see below, the C&C 101 deck plug has come a long way in just a few short days. At this point all of the station patterns are set and leveled and the sheathing of the deck has commenced.

In the above photos the hull plug of the 101 can be seen with the bulk of the fairing and shaping work complete and the tooling primer applied. From here, the entire hull will be faired and sanded in stages to a 400 grit finish and then prepared to build a mold.

In the background, the beginning of the deck plug can be seen. The plug is built from wood patterns cut on a CNC router and then sheathed and finished by the artisans on our development team.
